Fiber ODF (Optical Distribution Frame)

A Fiber Terminal Box is a compact enclosure located at the end-user access point, such as homes, offices, or floor distribution points . Its primary function is to splice, secure, and protect optical fibers connecting the incoming drop cable to pigtails or patch cables. Key characteristics include:

  • Small form factor for wall-mounted or desktop installation
  • Typically supports 1–12 fiber connectors, depending on the model
  • Provides storage for slack fiber and mechanical support to prevent bending or tensile stress
  • Serves as the last connection point before end-user equipment like ONU/ONT Fiber Terminal Boxes are commonly used in FTTH or FTTB networks at network edge points where fiber capacity is small and flexible dispatching is not required .
