Push and pull to close the distribution box

M12 push-pull distributor boxes are closed and secured by simply pushing the cover onto the header until the locking clips snap in, and can be released by pressing the clips forward.

Closing the Distribution Box

To close an M12 push-pull distributor box:

  1. Align the cover with the header of the distributor box. The cover is designed to fit without screws, using a plug-in mechanism .
  2. Push the cover onto the header firmly until you hear or feel the snap-in locking clips engage. This ensures the cover is securely held in place .
  3. Check the locking clips to confirm they are fully engaged. The clips provide a reliable hold and prevent accidental opening, even in high-vibration environments .

Releasing the Cover

If you need to open the box:

  1. Locate the locking clips on the sides of the cover.
  2. Press the clips forward with your finger. This action disengages the locking mechanism .
  3. Pull the cover away from the header gently. The push-pull system allows the cover to be removed without tools, minimizing the risk of damage to connectors or wiring .

Additional Tips

  • The push-pull fast-locking system is standardized according to IEC 61076-2-010, ensuring compatibility with other M12 connectors .
  • For master cable connections, the box uses Push-in PCB terminal blocks, allowing direct insertion of conductors without tools, which complements the push-pull cover system .
  • Always ensure the IP67 sealing is intact when closing the box to maintain protection against dust and water ingress . Using this push-pull method provides a quick, safe, and tool-free way to close and open M12 distribution boxes, reducing installation time and ensuring reliable electrical connections in industrial automation applications .
