A 1-to-2 optical splitter divides a single fiber optic signal into two outputs by connecting the input fiber to the splitter's input port and linking the two output ports to your devices using clean, compatible fiber patch cables.

1. Identify Requirements and Gather Materials Determine the type of splitter you need (1x2, passive or active) and ensure it matches your network specifications, including split ratio (typically 50:50) and connector type (SC, LC, or APC) . Gather fiber optic patch cables, connectors, cleaning tools, and optionally a fusion splicer or mechanical splice kit . 2. Prepare the Fiber Cables Measure and cut the fiber cables to the required length.
